Mission & Vision

To serve South Carolina’s artistically talented high school students through programs of pre- professional instruction in an environment of artistic and academic excellence. The school is an accessible resource to all teachers and students in South Carolina. To be a learning community characterized by artistic and academic excellence, in which all members contribute to a diverse culture through an innovative curriculum and interdisciplinary experiences.

Arts Goals

  • Sustain and continue to build meaningful collaborations across departments schoolwide to improve student achievement
  • Support innovation by engaging in reflection to assess and revise practices/programs in order to prepare students to be future-forward creators, learners, and workers
  • Identify and support internal and external professional learning opportunities for employees relevant to their unique roles and responsibilities
  • Cultivate an inclusive and interconnected living and learning community reflective of many paths toward a shared Govie experience
