PACE Mentorship

Could you benefit from a discipline specific mentor?

ABC Institute would like to provide you the opportunity – at no cost.

ABC Institute has recruited and vetted interested arts educators from all disciplines across the state to support our non-traditional arts educators as they enter the profession. Arts education has unique pedagogical practices and having the support of a discipline-specific mentor could provide transformational support to early career educators.

Who is Eligible?

A mentorship is available to PACE candidates who:

  • Have successfully completed the PACE Institute
  • Have Taught as a PACE candidate (full time) for one year in one of the following disciplines:
    • Dance
    • Drama/Theatre
    • Visual Art
    • Music (general, instrumental, or choral)
    • Media Art

How does it work?

  1. Apply here
  2. Acceptance: There are 10 candidate slots each year for consideration.
  3. Assignment: If accepted, you will be assigned a mentor based on discipline and grade level.

What does mentorship include?

Mentorship will be provided for one academic year (July-June).  PACE arts mentors will develop an individualized mentorship plan based on availability and need with at least monthly Zoom mentorship calls. Topics could include:

  • Lesson plan reviews
  • Teaching strategies
  • Advice on professional resources

Application Deadline: July 1, 2026
