Mission & Vision
To use arts integration to provide a nurturing environment that engages lifelong learners.
- Maintains a full-time arts faculty in these areas: music, art, drama, and dance.
- Implements standards-based instruction.
- Provides all students with the opportunity to participate and excel in and through the arts.
- Serves as a teaching model within the arts community for educators and supporters of the arts.
Arts Goals
- To significantly improve achievement of the arts through curriculum, instruction, integration and assessment based on the implementation of SC College and Career Ready VPA Standards.
- To provide a quality age-appropriate curriculum in dance, music, theatre and visual arts to meet the unique needs of NCCAE students.
- To provide NCCAE teachers with professional learning opportunities and arts integration in order to improve student achievement.
- To provide school staff, community, and businesses with team-building opportunities to increase collaboration between the arts team & faculty.
Points of Pride
- We staff a full arts team including Piano and Strings
- Continuing partnership with Arts Now and ECM which includes professional development for all staff members
- Exposure to professional performers through the Charleston Gaillard Center Field Trips
