Arts Mission
The mission of the Visual and Performing Arts’ program is to maximize student potential by immersing all learners in an innovative, student-centered arts education: One Community, One Purpose, Every Child.
Arts Vision
The vision of New Prospect Elementary (Visual and Performing Arts’ Program) is to provide exemplary arts instruction, delivered with depth and integrity, so that every student is assured innovative arts experiences.
Arts Goals
- Innovate and increase engagement in the comprehensive fine arts program.
- Integrate technology to address availability, intentionality, and amplify creativity in the arts curriculum.
- Create an informing environment in which students assume ownership and advocate for their arts experiences
- To create and maintain a presence in which the arts curriculum unites students with stakeholders and local, state, and national communities.
- To build upon knowledge and skills obtained by our leadership, faculty, and students to increase engagement in the whole-school arts mission and vision.
Points of Pride
- Disney’s Aristocats, Jr. -The return of the bi-annual New Prospect musical. Total arts team collaboration of music, theatre, dance, and visual arts, impacting all NPE students.
- The Living Art Gallery. Live and interactive art masterpiece representation presented by New Prospect Elementary Studio Art students.
- School Wide Arts Residency Week-Youth Arts month activities which concluded with week-long diverse residencies for every grade level.
- Spring Fine Arts Community Showcase- Intentional community outreach which extensively showcases all levels & domains of NPE’s performing & visual arts areas held at an off-campus community venue.
- Prospects-The annually published literary magazine, featuring literary and visual arts works from all grade levels.
