Arts Mission, Vision, & Goals
Arts Mission
McDonald Green Elementary will utilize arts education and integration to holistically engage, connect, and nourish each student so they can thrive as the innovators and compassionate leaders of tomorrow.
Arts Vision
Our students will be life-long learners who effectively communicate their ideas, celebrate diversity, own their individuality, know and continue to develop their unique talents, creatively solve problems, are self-sufficient, and confidently use their 21st century skills in their jobs, homes and communities.
Arts Goals
- Expand and enrich the depth, quality, and variety of arts learning experiences for all students so that students are truly generating new ideas, problem solving, and creating art across all subject areas.
- Create an environment that stimulates creativity, encourages reflective practice, and showcases student achievement in the arts.
Points of Pride
- Team-taught arts integration lessons are modeled for every teacher through school-led PD.
- Modeled lessons include arts materials for every classroom teacher to take back to their room and apply to their curriculum.
- Protected arts integration time for activity teachers and classroom teachers to co-plan arts integration lessons and co-teach.
- Annual performance opportunity for every 1st through 5th grader that develops acting, dancing, and singing skills over five years.
- Several arts events draw the community into our building each year to watch, celebrate, or even create art with our students.
