Arts Mission

To provide students the opportunity to explore, respond, discover, and create in and through a quality arts education.

Arts Vision

In collaboration with an engaged school staff and community, our vision is to create an atmosphere conducive to create, diverse, and integrated opportunities in and through the arts.

Arts Goals
  • Improve student achievement in the arts through curriculum, instruction, and assessment based on the implementation of the South Carolina College and Career Ready Standards for Visual and Performing Arts Proficiency.
  • Improve student achievement through arts integration.
  • Increase community awareness, knowledge, and support of the arts and arts education.

Points of Pride


  • We are a S.T.E.A.M school that uses science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics as access points for guiding student-inquiry, dialogue and critical thinking.
  • Lower Richland High band took four winners to the district honor band for 2022-23.
  • The chorus student participated in workshops and had the opportunity to learn from Artists and writers Chris Walker, Kirk Whalum, Regina Bell, and Bob James.
  • Lower Richland is unique because we have two art instructors that teaches photography as well as printmaking within the courses.
  • The drama department presented the play “After Hours” to the student body and the community.
