Arts Mission
The mission of Howe Hall Arts Infused Magnet School is to provide dynamic learning with quality arts experiences as an essential component of the curriculum that will optimize student achievement and develop lifelong learners who demonstrate integrity, perseverance and a global perspective.
Arts Vision
The vision of Howe Hall Arts Infused Magnet School is to endlessly advance as a model of arts infusion that is dedicated to rigorous standards, artistic collaboration, and producing world-class knowledgeable South Carolina graduates.
Arts Goals
To expand and improve:
- Artist in Residency Programs to include pre/post standards based assessments, home-school communication, as well as to provide indirect professional development for other schools and arts organizations.
- Standards based arts planning and assessment through partnerships with the South Carolina Arts Assessment Program and the University of South Carolina.
- Professional Development opportunities through both school based and local arts events, to increase faculty comfort, knowledge, exposure, confidence and advocacy in the arts.
Points of Pride
- A comprehensive approach to fine arts instruction in ALL areas including regularly scheduled classes, exploratory courses, after school performing groups, and visiting artists in residence.
- Systematic arts infusion, integration, and enhancement lessons being taught daily across all subjects throughout the entire school year.
- National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 2010, recognition by the Kennedy Center for Excellence in Fine Arts Education in 2007, recipient of the Elizabeth O’Neill Verner Award for Arts in Education in 2015 and designation by the Arts School Network as an Exemplary School of Distinction in 2017.
