Mission & Vision
Cyril B. Busbee Creative Arts Academy will provide a quality education through arts advocacy, standards-based arts instruction, and integration of the arts, culminating in student showcases and performances. Cyril B. Busbee Creative Arts Academy envisions itself as an arts integrated school with a specialized arts magnet program.
Arts Goals
- To increase student achievement in the arts through standards-based curriculum instruction and assessment.
- To develop and implement standards based STEAM, design and media arts instruction.
- To increase awareness of The Academy as a creative arts school and strengthen relations within the district and community.
- To provide quality, ongoing professional development for all staff.
Points of Pride
- A Title 1 School that offers all students a high- quality arts education with courses in visual arts, band, chorus, dance, theatre, strings, guitar, and creative writing.
- Annual events include: Veterans Day program, Hispanic Heritage celebration, winter concerts, district art shows, music and theatre competitions, Black History Month celebration, Dessert Cabaret, Day of Dance and spring concerts.
- Strong collaboration with elementary schools.
- Students are able to further their learning and explore the design process while participating in STEAM activities in the Media Center.
- Intentional PD focusing on arts integration.
