Arts Mission

The mission of Berea Elementary in partnership with our families and community is to provide an innovative arts program that is accessible to all students, allows for creative expression, and represents our cultural diversity.

Arts Vision

● All students have the opportunity to work with artists in residence every year.
● Our school celebrates equality, diversity, and inclusion by creating a culturally rich environment in all classrooms and schoolwide events.
● We will provide broad, culturally relevant arts engagement and integration opportunities that students may not get anywhere else.
● The school facilities will meet the needs of the students through increased performance areas, student galleries, murals, and sculpture projects.
● Our teachers will be provided extensive arts and arts integration experiences to support curriculum and student achievement.
● Our school will be known for the arts locally and statewide.

Arts Goals

• Develop and implement a 2017 College and Career Ready Standards for the Visual and Performing Arts program that includes dance, music, theatre, visual arts, and literary arts in order to improve student achievement.
• Develop and implement quality professional development to support arts integration, STEAM, and the arts specialists.
• Expand and improve arts equipment and facilities inside and outside the school building to improve the effectiveness of arts learning.
• Develop and implement community involvement activities and partnerships to improve awareness and support of the visual, performing, and literary arts.
