Andrew Jackson Middle School is a rural community school in Lancaster County, that is located near the town of Kershaw, SC. It has an enrollment of 482. AJMS’s demographics is made up of 66% White, 26% black, 3% hispanic,and 5% mixed races. 44% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. The school has been an ABC site since 1999. It is the only middle school in Lancaster County dedicated to having a strong arts program. While students audition for the Arts Focus program, being an ABC site benefits all students through targeted arts instruction. Our school offers six areas of arts instruction: Strings, Band, Chorus, Theatre, Visual Art, and Dance. Strings,Theatre and Dance are unique to AJMS within our school district.
