Arts Mission

The mission of Andrew Jackson Middle School and the community is to create productive lifelong learners in, with, and through the arts.

Arts Vision

The vision of Andrew Jackson Middle School is to become a quality collaborative arts integrated school.

Arts Goals

• To target Achievement of the arts curriculum, instruction, and assessment, in accordance with the 2017 South Carolina College and Career-Ready Standards for Visual and Performing Arts Proficiency Standards and the Opportunity-to-Learn Standards.
• To generate and acquire resources and funding for increases to technology, equipment, and materials, and for facilities advancements or modifications.
• To promote advocacy and mutual support for quality arts education within our school, district, and community.
• To strengthen the quality and frequency of arts integration.

Points of Pride

• AJ Middle’s arts programs are active in the AJ Community including: our Halloween concert and Trunk or Treat, Love Is an Open Door project providing welcome bags for members of the Lancaster County Council for the Aging who came to see Frozen Jr., Creation of pottery pieces for nurses to honor them on Nurses Day.
• Our Band, Chorus and Theatre programs received superior ratings at various competitions last year.
• Our Fine Arts teachers serve as Arts Integration advisors for our Core Curriculum faculty.
• Our staff participated in a Visual Arts project to kick off this school year.
