Designed for elementary and middle school educators, participants will engage in hands-on, arts integrated activity that connects thematically to The Lion King, showing teachers how arts-integrated classroom activities can also connect to art viewing experiences. A ticket to see The Lion King will be included in the participant registration. The institute lessons will address the following arts integration concepts: exploring world cultures through music and mask making, building comprehension through rhythm and sound, connections between music and poetry, poetry off the page, and deeper meaning through monologues.
