Artful Friday Lessons – May 15

Artful Friday Lessons, May 15
Continue to check back regularly as schedule options are growing and each week is a unique combination of classes. If you plan to attend any lesson listed below, please let SC Afterschool Alliance know by registering through this link.

  • Mandala Magic
No special art supplies? No problem! Mandalas are an art form that can be made of almost anything. Collect several objects of a certain theme. For example: marbles, straws, dice, nail polish bottles, post-it notes, really just about anything. You may also want to take a photo as our Mandalas are not built to last. We have to return to objects during clean up. 🙂
    Time: 11:00am
Audience: Elementary but all are welcome
Instructions: You will need a clean surface to work on and a collection of objects.

  • Senses of Place at the CMA
Join us on a virtual journey through time and place. We’ll be traveling around the world without leaving the house as we take a closer look at original works of art spanning centuries and cultures. In this virtual tour through the CMA galleries we’ll discover how artists capture various places and what works of art can tell us about what life was like in a particular time or place. Get some inspiration to create a work of art that reflects your own surroundings.
    Time: 2:00pm (20 minutes)
    Students: Elementary (2-5)
    What you will need: Nothing!
