To provide a rigorous Arts program that inspires lifelong engagement in the Arts.
Arts Goals
- South Florence High School will provide quality arts curricula based on the 2017 SCCCRVPA and national standards.
- South Florence High School provides the necessary quality and innovative facilities, equipment, and materials to support arts instruction aligned with the South Carolina VPA Curriculum Standards and the Opportunities To Learn criteria.
- Advocate for the arts in our school through community awareness and involvement.
- Provide relevant professional development opportunities in the arts.
Points of Pride
- Expanded arts programs to include Music Technology, Graphic Design, Ceramics, and Painting. Arts faculty now consists of 10 full time teachers, and 2 part time. (2020-2022)
- 100% pass rate of AP Art & Design exam. (2023)
- Theatre program produced the first school musical in over 20 years. (Spring 2023)
- Choral program was a featured performing group at the ACDA conference. (Fall 2022)
- Renovated all arts facilities. Renovations/additions include: Music Recording Studio, Dance Studio, Painting Studio, Ceramics Studio, Graphic Design Studio, repainted Band and Chorus Rooms, Theatre Studio, and Auditorium. (2020-2022)
- 100% growth of band program in one school year.
