Arts Mission

At Satchel Ford, our quality, comprehensive visual and performing arts programs enrich the learning and the lives of all students.

Arts Vision

Satchel Ford Elementary’s arts programs have been operating at essentially the same level for the past 13 years, thanks to strategic planning from faculty, school administration and FASC. We plan to continue current instructional offerings, performances, arts experiences, arts events, and yearly needs assessments as well as assist other schools or districts that seek to model our innovative arts curricular program.

Arts Goals

• To find new ways to incorporate more artist residencies for our students throughout this school year.
• To provide standards based arts instruction in all arts disciplines by strengthening and expanding
  current arts programs in the classroom.
• To offer students the highest level of quality, discipline- based arts experiences beyond the arts classroom.

Points of Pride

• All students perform in our grade-level productions: “Every Kids Can Be A Star!”
• Students participate in dance, drama, music and visual arts once every 7 school days.
• Our Arts Month, held annually in March, incorporates community members, artists and even our superintendent for lunch time performances and experiences.
