League Academy of Communication Arts is committed to serving all students through the implementation of our school vision, which is to prepare students to become lifelong learners and contributing members of society through rigorous, arts-focused, standards-based instruction. In addition to our vision, our school operates under the Capturing Kids’ Hearts philosophy. Our teachers are always seeking to learn new and effective classroom strategies including arts integration and technology into all disciplines and content areas. We use Professional Learning Communities and curriculum development to drive our instructional process. Our strong history of academic success includes being designated as a National Jr. Beta Club School of distinction in 2016, 2017 and 2018, being awarded the Arts in the Basic Curriculum Grant in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020, being named the South Carolina School of Excellence in the Arts in 2018, becoming an ABC Certified School in 2020, and being designated as a National School to Watch in 2011, 2015, 2017, and 2020. Our principal, Mary Leslie Anderson, was named the Metropolitan Arts Council of Greenville Arts Educator of the Year in April of 2021 and was a finalist for SC Principal of the Year in 2019 and 2021. Students have a variety of academic and arts opportunities at League that include a communication arts program and intermediate and advanced studies in drama, dance, band, string orchestra, choral music and the visual art, all of which are award winning programs. Additionally, students can select communication arts electives, including graphic art and design, video production, gaming, engineering, teen leadership and journalism.
