Cherryvale Elementary School is a neighborhood school that serves approximately 545 students with three-fourths identified as African American. All of the students at Cherryvale Elementary School are served with free breakfast and lunch which is reflective of its 97% poverty rate. There are 13% of the students that are being served with special education services. The faculty consists of 85 people with 55 certified staff and 35 classified staff members. The school is served by Title I and Priority Project funds and is identified as a CSI school because of historically low, but currently increasing assessment scores. The school’s administration is in their second year of serving its stakeholders of students, parents, staff and community.
